Finance Officer

Harris Hill are extremely proud to be seeking an experienced Finance Officer to work alongside one of the UK's leading organisations dedicated to improving inequality and social mobility. Main Duties
Maintaining the Purchase Ledger
Maintaining the Grant Ledger
Maintaining the Sales Ledger, processing programme related invoices and allocating receipts.
Cash management
Maintaining accurate records of receipts, grants, staff expenses, overheads and cash balances.
Processing company credit card
Assisting with month end procedures
Assisting with the ad-hoc finance administration
Assisting with the year-end statutory accounts
Assisting audit and budget setting process

Person Specification

Do you have experience in:

charity accounting/book-keeping
working within or an understanding of the not for profit sector
using QuickBooks (desirable)

We are also looking for an individual who:

is degree educated (or equivalent/qualified by experience)
is AAT qualified or holds a similar qualification or is willing to study towards an accountancy qualification
has two or more years' experience of working in a busy finance department with responsibility for similar tasks (preferably in the not for profit sector)
has a sound understanding of double entry book-keeping, accruals and prepayments
is personable, flexible and discrete; able to fit in to a small team
Has an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, (particularly Excel)


Terms of Appointment

Salary: 25,000- 30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: The standard working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
Annual leave: 27 days per annum plus bank holidays
