 Your new role

You will be responsible for the management of the finance department which will include working with the accounts team to prepare the year-end statutory accounts, in accordance with SORP, including managing the audit, the relationship with the auditors and overseeing preparation of the audit files.  Managing the submission of the statutory accounts to the Charity Commission and leading the preparation and presentation of the annual budget and, with the support of the Director and COO, obtain Trustees’ approval. You will also be providing quarterly re-forecasts, for the senior management team, Trustees & Audit Committee, as the year progresses including commentary. Produce regular written and, as required, verbal reports to Trustees, Audit and Remuneration committees on the organisation’s financial performance and future financial position and trends. Undertake careful treasury management, liaise with bankers regarding banking and financing matters and liaise with Audit Committee on any review and implementation of cash and investment policy.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful you will need to be a Qualified accountant with strong finance management experience and fully conversant with accounting procedures legislation. You will need strong knowledge of SORP, charity legislation which is why previous charity experience is essential. You will need to be a strong communicator and have the ability to prioritise and manage diverse workloads.

The organisation offers significant flexibility and a salary up to £52,000 (depending on experience).
