Job description

A national children's charity in London, seek an Fundraising Assistant for 5 weeks, starting ASAP.

The key aspects of the role are:

Job Purpose
To contribute to the Fundraising department's purpose of maximising income from potential and current supporters through providing logistical and admin support for specific events.
To support the team in delivering the agreed departmental strategy, goals and fundraising budget.
To work effectively with other departments in fundraising and other functions within the charity to maximise income for children.
To provide accurate and timely financial processing to budget holders within the Special Events department.

Key Relationships - Internal
Reports to Senior Special Events Manager in the Special Events team
Engages with staff across all other functions, to enhance fundraising
relationships.

Key Relationships External
Provides a customer service for supporters and potential supporters who wish to liaise with team members.
Builds relationships with supporters and external contacts.
Liaises with suppliers to order/receive goods necessary for carrying out team fundraising activities.

Main Responsibilities
To support event managers on the delivery of their events by carrying out tasks as assigned by the line manager and fundraisers to agreed standards and deadlines.
To carry out research for the development of events that contributes to fundraising activities through a range of sources, including the Internet, Intranet, publications and other external contacts, including other charities. Including supplier and prize research.
To draft and produce written correspondence such as letters, reports and other documents as required, using word processing, databases and spreadsheets to required standards.
To undertake specific fundraising projects as necessary or as required to support the department's fundraising.
To organise and co-ordinate logistics for internal and external meetings on behalf of the team.
To keep abreast of developments across the function that maximise the Special Events team's relationships with their supporters.
To provide a high quality, professional telephone and face to face customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
To proactively take steps to improve knowledge and understanding of supporters through supporting the development of relationships with them.
To maintain an efficient record keeping system for the team, including current and archived files, using appropriate manual and electronic systems.
To provide financial administrative assistance to budget holders, including processing invoices, placing orders, undertaking financial analysis, cash handling and banking in line with policies and procedures.
To undertake the sourcing and compilation of mailing lists as well as the selection and processing of mailings in an effective, efficient and timely way.
