Fundraising Due Diligence Executive

I am delighted to be working alongside a well-established children's charity in search of a part-time (21 hours a week) Fundraising Due Diligence Executive. This exciting role will see you conducting due diligence research on major donors, corporates and public representatives (celebrities). Responsibilities include gathering and analysing information from numerous external sources and presenting findings in a clear written format with consideration of confidentiality.

Main duties:
Undertake due diligence on behalf of teams across Fundraising & Engagement, Communications, and Strategy Policy & Evidence in line with policies and procedures.
Ensure that research, escalations, and decision-making are communicated and recorded centrally and in line with Data Protection regulations.

Key relationships Internal:
Report to Fundraising Due Diligence Manager
Work with managers across Fundraising & Engagement, Communications, and Strategy Policy & Evidence to support external relationship management.
Engage with staff in other teams, such as Prospect Development, Compliance, and Governance, to add value to due diligence activities.

Main duties and responsibilities:
Undertake the delivery of comprehensive due diligence research on potential major donors, corporate partners, and public representatives, employing appropriate methodologies and resources.
Present research findings objectively and clearly, through a high standard of written reporting with attention to detail and consideration of confidentiality.
Identify reputational and ethical risks in line with organisational policies, and escalate for consideration by senior colleagues where appropriate.
Provide reliable and efficient support, ensuring that tasks are delivered to deadline and proactively communicating any issues.
Interact constructively with colleagues in responding to requests for, and relaying the results of, due diligence.
Record outcomes centrally on the Raiser's Edge database and in compliance with Data Protection regulations.
Seek opportunities to improve due diligence policies and procedures and external resources to ensure that they are fit for purpose.

Responsibilities for all Staff within the Fundraising & Engagement Department:
Be responsible for updating databases and supporter information systems on a regular basis in line with Data Protection legislation and the charity's policy and procedures to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate and to ensure the team does likewise
Maintain an awareness of own and others' Health and Safety and comply with Health and Safety policy and procedures.

Person specification:
Proven analytical skills, proficient in collecting and interpreting information from various sources, before presenting findings clearly and accurately.
Experience in using databases and Microsoft Office, including word processing, spreadsheets, email and the internet to deliver tasks and projects, and to maintain administrative and information systems.
An understanding of how risk management and compliance apply to fundraising as a discipline.
A prospect research background is desirable.
