Fundraising Investment Manager

Job description

An international charity are looking for a Fundraising Investment Manager to manage the charity's global fundraising expansion programme and fundraising investment fund. The role provides market insight on potential new fundraising markets, donors, and income streams and guides organisational decisions on the development and expansion of fundraising.

You will also provide direct management and support to existing investment countries, ensuring they achieve financial self-sufficiency and raise funds for our fight against poverty and injustice.

You will develop fundraising investment forums, mechanisms and policies to coordinate bilateral investment by the charity's members (through sponsor/host agreements) as well as central investment managed by the Global Secretariat.

You should have substantial experience of various funding streams across international markets, but particularly individual giving. You will have good familiarity with various fundraising techniques, including digital, as well as the ability to analyse and prepare detailed fundraising forecasts and budgets. You will be comfortable assessing funding performance across a broad range of income channels as well as developing systems and processes to facilitate effective performance management

Key Responsibilities:
-Manage fundraising investments and delegations, ensuring fair, transparent processes are followed in the allocation of resources
-Support members to access the Fundraising Investment Fund, advising countries on the criteria and process for applications.
-Facilitate sponsor host/fundraising delegations through the management of a transparent Expression of Interest process.
-Develop appropriate business case application forms and reporting templates to ensure appropriate KPIs and results captured and measured.
-With the support of the Global Insight & Funding Analyst and technical experts, ensure Senior Management and the Board have the information required to make informed and strategic decisions about Federation investments and delegations
-Oversee the Fundraising Investment Fund and sponsor host/fundraising and donor delegations, ensuring they drive fundraising growth and contribute to the delivery of the Funding Strategy
-Keep up to date with activities and plans through regular meetings with investment recipients and delegation managers, the technical funding stream experts who support countries by providing advice/solve problems.
-Provide technical support and guidance as required to delegation managers, helping ensure the success of the investment and compliance with existing and incoming policies and processes.
-Develop the fundraising capability of staff, across the charity's fundraising investment portfolio to maximize income and ensure effective investment spend
-Matrix manage Federation investments in Brazil, South Africa, India and the USA
-Provide comprehensive and effective management support to matrix reports and Heads of Fundraising of recipient countries to maximise staff potential and enable fundraising investments to flourish.
-Ensure effective three-way communication between matrix reports/Heads of Fundraising and Country Directors to ensure alignment and 'buy in' on the fundraising programme and any key developments
-Deliver intensive support to recipient counties, guiding the development of strategies and operational plans.
-Drive the expansion programme, through the identification and scoping of new market or donor opportunities

Skills and Experience required:
-Substantial experience managing various funding streams; individual giving, major donor/foundations and institutional funding
-Significant experience as a successful fundraising manager
-Broad familiarity with various fundraising techniques including face to face and digital fundraising, and retaining a large base of regular giving supporters
-Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills across cultures, with the ability to motivate, inspire and lead others.
-Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills with experience of and an aptitude for strategic planning
-Positive attitude to tackling challenges and seizing opportunities
-Excellent analysis skills and experience of assessing funding performance across a broad range of income streams
-Experience of developing systems and processes to facilitate effective performance management
-Ability to analyse and prepare detailed fundraising forecasts and budgets
-Proven ability to prepare diverse funding strategies and plans
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a demonstrable ability to translate complicated raw data into key messages for senior stakeholders
-Experience of managing similar INGO investment programmes would be a strong advantage.
