Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Fundraising Officer (retention) for a fantastic national charity in order to implement the retention strategy, by looking after the supporter journey for regular giving and cash supporters. The post holder will develop the charity s income from individual donors and build strong relationships with existing supporters.

Key responsibilities:

Deliver the ongoing retention programme, including cash appeals, supporter newsletter, thank you mailings, gift aid mailings and any other data hygiene communications via various multimedia channels.
Project management of existing retention campaigns, including issuing all appropriate creative, fulfilment and data briefs; managing relationships with external suppliers; and taking responsibility for all specific appeal coding requirements.
Improve supporter journey for regular giving and cash audience by producing engaging loyalty materials and lead on developing an effective and engaging nursery programme.
Implement upgrade and retention strategy to ensure we are asking supporters to upgrade or reactivate at the optimal time in their journey; this could be through managing direct mail, email or telephone campaigns.
Continue to gather and collate audience insight to inform decision making, including delivering the annual supporter survey as well as working with external agencies to build supporter profiles and understand supporter motivations.
Lead on the management of the charity Raffle, including working with the External Lottery Manager and charity s internal Database Team to ensure the smooth administration of the raffle draw; working alongside charity s retail function to facilitate raffle sales in charity shops; and working with creative agencies to produce engaging campaign materials.
Prepare regular reports and present findings to the Fundraising Manager and ensure all campaigns have a post campaign analysis to inform future campaigns.
Assist the Fundraising Manager with budgeting and forecasting in line with organisational timetables.

Person specification:

Proven direct marketing project management skills
Knowledge of Direct Marketing techniques
Experience of working in a marketing environment
Highly detail-oriented with excellent accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
Organised and self-motivated with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload within agreed deadlines
Collaborative team player with a willingness to share knowledge and learning openly to create understanding and support
A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to work independently and act on initiative where appropriate
Ability to think outside the box, providing innovative solutions
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interpret complex information for non-specialist audiences
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Office packages

DESIRABLE:

Experience of managing and delivering a fundraising campaign
Experience leading on or supporting the delivery of a charity gaming product, such as raffle or lottery
Experience of managing and negotiating with suppliers to deliver campaigns.
An understanding of data management, data manipulation and data selections to underpin financial decisions and supporter insight
Experience of using Raiser s Edge to effectively report on direct marketing related CRM data
