Fundraising Researcher

Job description

A charity are looking for a Prospect Researcher to provide excellent high value fundraising research that enables fundraisers to be more effective and efficient in their work. You will lead on the development and review of the prospect pipeline, support the development of solicitation plans, stewardship reviews and decide the best way to approach new prospects.

You will help to identify and research high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations, companies, community partners and high profile influencers. You will also research networks, manage and develop the pipeline of prospects, advise on stewardship and work with all teams across fundraising to ensure that relationships are being maximised by contributing to the solicitation planning process. You will also be providing prospect/donor briefs for key events.

Key Responsibilities:
-Ensure the Major Giving, the Fundraising Directorate and the wider organisation are provided with effective and efficient research information to enable success
-Lead on identifying and researching high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations, companies, community partners and high profile influencers
Work on prospect research strategy across the charity's activities
-Develop and manage processes to ensure a steady flow of prospects and advise on the stewardship plans and pipelines. Lead on the development of the Major Giving team's prospect pipeline.
-Lead on network mapping and share information with teams across fundraising to ensure that relationships are being maximised by contributing to the solicitation process
-Ensure the effective managing, gathering and analys ing of biographical, financial, corporate and philanthropic information from a wide variety of sources, both publicly available and from our supporter database
-Manage proactive and reactive research systems to ensure opportunities are being maximised and support teams including, Major Giving, Corporate, Community, Special Events, the Celebrity Manager, the Leadership team and the Board of Trustees

Skills and Experience required:
-Educated to degree level with a strong experience in a prospect research role
-Great strategic thinker with planning skills and attention to detail
-Ability to use initiative and creatively source information to identify cross team opportunities
-Good working knowledge of Major Donors, Trusts & Foundations, Special Events, Corporate and Community fundraising areas
-Understanding of prospect pipeline management
-Excellent working knowledge of CRM system/database
-Ability to understand the demands of different income streams
-Proven experience in prioritising and managing varied workload and time
management skills
-Excellent communicator - confident and competent to communicate clear and useful information to fundraisers
-IT literate, including Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
