Governance and Compliance Senior Officer

Job description

I am currently looking for a Governance and Compliance Senior Officer for a large health charity. This is a 6 month FTC and can be based in London or Chesterfield. In this broad and varied role and you will contribute to the management of governance and regulatory compliance within the charity with management responsibility for some areas.
You will be expected to pro-actively develop highly effective and customer focused relationships with directors, managers and other people across the charity in order to understand, develop and deliver the corporate services infrastructure needs of the charity. Providing and promoting good governance practice, ensuring compliance, regulation and supporting their aims and functions.
The successful candidate will have proven ability in management, excellent communication skills and a strong track record of delivering improvements to systems and processes.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
Pro-actively develop highly effective and customer focussed relationships with people across the charity in order to understand, develop and deliver the corporate services infrastructure needs of the charity.
Implement process improvements to assure and improve the effectiveness of our Corporate Services arrangements, including governance.
Working collaboratively to ensure the smooth running of the charity's main Board and committees.
Undertake various projects, research and briefing for the Head of Governance & Compliance.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Act as a trusted advisor to the business, building and maintaining relationships across the organisation to develop a clear understanding of business needs.
Undertake any other reasonable duties, as determined by the Head of Governance and Compliance.
