Grants Coordinator

Job description

Harris Hill are working exclusively with a homelessness charity based in London to find them a Grants Coordinator. The successful candidate will need to carry out operational tasks on a day-to-day basis, including assessing and processing new grant applications.


Key responsibilities

  • Process and evaluate grant applications received and, where necessary, obtain further information from applicants, applying good judgement and flexibility in the process
  • Maintain user records through our grant management system (Flexi-Grant)
  • Reply to correspondence in inbox and telephone queries
  • Deal with all information in line with Data Protection (GDPR).
  • Process returns of grants, check and chase evidence submitted by grant recipients
  • Process new user registrations
  • Make grant payments
  • Actively highlight if there are any concerns with the applications or the process for applying for a grant
  • Liaise with Fluent Technology (who host Flexi-Grant) where necessary


Person specification

  • Grant administration management or casework experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the range of situations facing people experiencing homelessness
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders, including people who may be in distress
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a heavy workload to set timescales and performance targets with minimal supervision and exercise good judgement in the process
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in line with current GDPR legislation and company policy and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills the ability to clearly communicate difficult information both in writing and verbally is critical
  • Good telephone call handling skills
