A charity are looking for a Grants Operations Manager to manage and oversee all aspects of grant operations and administration, including line management of the Grants Operations Team, ensuring that the end-to-end grants management process is effectively managed and coordinated.

With strong people, operational and grants management experience, you will be responsible for developing and leading a small team, prioritising and redeploying work where necessary to ensure operational support across the whole portfolio of grants and programmes.

You will also be responsible for overseeing the effective roll-out of a new grants management system.


Key Responsibilities:
-Leading the Grants and Programmes Operations team, line managing four staff, prioritising work and redeploying resources as required to provide flexible operational support across the whole portfolio of grants and programmes.
-Overseeing a period of innovation and change across their grants operations processes, including the implementation of a new grants management system
-To be the 'Customer representative' for the grants aspect of the new Salesforce system including a key role in identification, development, testing and implementation of system changes
-Developing expert user skills of grants systems software, including agreeing standard and bespoke reporting outputs.
-Designing and reviewing processes to support both the needs of grant making teams and external stakeholders.
-Overseeing the development, monitoring, and review of guidance on grant-making and management, and the coordination of this guidance within the wider organisation
-Reviewing, developing and overseeing processes for management information analysis and reporting, including to support assessments of project impact, collaborating with programmes and finance colleagues in doing so
-Working closely with programme teams and grant holders to ensure effective management of live grants
-Liaising with Communications team on communications priorities particularly grants and programmes content on our website, and events planning
-Overseeing protocol on information/records management, and ensuring that information is appropriately recorded and archived, mindful of data protection requirements
-Work with Directors on Budget setting, business planning/prioritisation and resource allocation, including for strategic projects

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience of overseeing complex administrative systems
-Experience of managing people and projects
-Excellent organisational skills, in particular co-ordination and planning
-High-level IT skills (including Microsoft 365 products) as well as strong data handling skills and database management skills ideally
-Negotiation, prioritisation, and project management skills
-Experience of working in a team supporting multiple people/functions
-Ideally experience within a grant giving, or similar organisation
