Growth and Communities Manager

Job description

A charity are looking for a Growth and Communities Team Manager to manage a portfolio of funded projects that enable the charity to test different ways to recruit, retain and diversify the charity's membership base.

You will also be responsible for managing the growth and communities team , managing collaborative relationships with country and region teams, key volunteers and funders.

You will also evaluate the success of trialled models of working that could support future strategic work or require modelling for scale-up.

This is a 12 month FTC. 

Key Responsibilities:
-To oversee the successful delivery of grant funded projects associated with growth and diversity work, by effectively managing project managers, ensuring delivery agreements and contracts are upheld and that targets and work priorities are delivered on time and within in budget in-line with national KPIs.
- To develop and manage a highly motivated team with good cohesion between core and remote team members.
- To design a robust outreach team model and sustainability plan in line with strategic interventions, and implement it based on internal and external insight/evaluations and sector good practice.
-To embed inclusive practice and promote accessibility and diversification of members through all areas of work, relationships, planning and as the team ethos.
To manage good working relations and processes with regional staff teams and key volunteers.
-To advise regional/country staff and volunteers on embedding an evidence-based approach to strategic growth planning and evaluation.
-To work with the Insight team to develop, test and trial growth interventions, and create business cases and recommendations based on evidence and analysis.
-To work collaboratively with the fundraising team to develop funding partnerships and secure large-scale funding to deliver evidence-based business cases for growth.
-To seek out and develop new strategic partnerships that will help us to broaden our audience, diversify our membership and reach new communities.
-To support the Head of Growth and Insight in monitoring the departmental budget and business plan, effectively managing core finances and overseeing restricted funds and funder reporting with appropriate
delegation to managers.
-To build strong partnerships with other staff teams and volunteers to embed evidence-based practice for recruitment, retention and diversification projects and initiatives

Skills and Experience required:
-A strong knowledge of project evaluation methods for robust business case development
-Experience of managing a large staff team on a national scale, including remote staff, and of creating a high-performing, motivated team
-Experience of taking multiple grant funded projects from inception through to evaluation; for up-scale, concept modelling or national roll-out with robust costed plans
-Experience of successfully overseeing complex, time pressured, large-scale funded projects and ensuring positive funder relations
-Experience of preparing financial reports and managing a budget (> 1million restricted) including ongoing forecasting, monitoring and reporting
-Experience of managing stakeholder relationships through delivery agreements or similar to deliver projects
