Job description

RDA UK are seeking a dynamic hands-on team leader who will play a crucial strategic role in leading all Communications and Insight related activity for RDA UK.

As Head of Communications (and Insight) you will work collaboratively across the charity to ensure all communications are on brand, deliver key messaging and engage target audiences in order to raise the organisation’s profile and public awareness.

Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is a federation of around 500 independent charities (groups) and RDA UK, a charity in its own right, leads the strategic direction and provides effective shared services for the federation.

Their horses benefit the lives of over 25,000 disabled children and adults. With fun activities like riding and carriage driving, they provide therapy, fitness, skills development and opportunities for achievement –all supported by 18,000 volunteers and qualified coaches. The combined turnover of the federation is around £15m.

Location:            RDA’s National Training Centre near Warwick at Lowlands Farm, Shrewley, CV35 7AX. Ideal candidate will be in the office 3 to 4 days a week

Salary:                 £45,000 -£50,000

Contract:            Permanent

What they are looking for:

  • Substantial experience of developing and implementing specialist strategic communications and media plans that have increased awareness and improved public perception with targeted audiences
  • Understanding and experience of UK broadcast, print and social media
  • Demonstrably excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills both online and offline
  • Experience of working with senior level stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Project Management skills
