A charity based in Barkingside are looking for a Head of Data and Insight. The successful candidate will lead a team of nine specialists to deliver a range of data related support services for the fundraising team. They will play a key role in embedding and delivering a supporter centric approach across fundraising; ensuring business decisions are made on strong and robust data- based evidence; ensure compliance and best practice in data management; ensuring the accurate and timely supply of data through a complex schedule of selections; and that the fundraising programme and its activities are fully evaluated and opportunities for improvement identified.
Key responsibilities
To work closely with the Director of Fundraising to monitor and measure the progress and success of the Fundraising Strategy
To play a key role in the development and delivery of a Fundraising wide approach to supporter centricity, and be responsible for developing a single supporter view through our data systems
To drive a brilliant processes, procedures and ways of working which ensure the effective running of the D&I Team
To ensure data insights are gathered and shared across fundraising to support fundraising activities and relationships
To take responsibility for the delivery of data selections and reporting schedule, and the management of a data warehouse
Corporate accountability for supporter data management and use; ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements as well as driving maximum financial benefit
To set and manage an expenditure budget per annum, including regular reforecasting and contingency planning
To lead a highly skilled and motivated team to deliver to strategic objectives; developing and managing the team and instilling best practice
To play a key role in the leadership of the wider Fundraising Team as part of the Fundraising Leadership Team (FLT)
Person specification
Experience of leading, motivating and managing a team
Proven line management experience within a technical environment including target setting and personal development
Experience of developing and managing expenditure budgets
Significant experience negotiating and influencing senior stakeholders
(including at Exec level) in a large and complex organisation
Experience working with senior teams to drive wider progress
Experience of using FastStats or similar tool such as Tableau or SSRS
Extensive experience of creating reports and dashboards in Salesforce
Extensive experience of delivering data selections for fundraising activities
Significant experience of project management and understanding of methodologies (specific experience working with Agile-Scrum desirable).
Experience working with large-scale CRM implementations
Significant experience working with business users; understanding and capturing requirements and translating these into practical reporting solutions
Proven experience of working with Data Warehouses as part of an analysis and reporting tool set
Significant experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team
Experience of supporting the development of amazing supporter experiences and relationship management
Experience of Risk Management
