Head of Fundraising
Job description
I am working with a dynamic breast cancer awareness charity who is looking for a creative and motivated Head of Fundraising to join the team at their London head office. As a member of the Senior Management team you will be required to develop their fundraising strategy and work towards bringing in an ambitious but realistic target.

Key Responsibilities:
To bring about and imbed cultural change in the way that income generation and fundraising operates within the charity
Identify opportunities for growth in existing areas of income
Ensure the charity meets all statutory requirements and industry standards in relation to income generation
Lead and inspire the fundraising team
Lead the preparation of annual plans and budgets for fundraising and comms
Develop and manage a prospect list drawn from high net worth individuals, corporate partners and grant making sources
Manage engaging and effective donor journeys and ensure an effective stewardship and retention plan is in place
Develop and manage a major gift, corporate partnership and grant prospect pipeline and secured pledged income.
To assist in identifying and highlighting key external trends which are relevant to the Charity's operation and provide relevant advice.
Essential criteria to be considered.
Experience of developing a fundraising strategy
A proven creative commercial approach to income generation activities backed up with a strong understanding of the market
Experience of delivering and developing events and community fundraising activity
Evidence of a range of innovative ideas and thinking related to income generation that complements but extends beyond traditional fundraising
Highly developed planning and financial modelling / budgeting experience within a complex and evolving environment
Strong financial skills and numerical analysis
Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to act in a diplomatic, credible and effective manner whilst representing the charity.
Excellent writing skills with a demonstrable commitment to high standards of presentation
A positive can do attitude
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
Experience of working successfully at a strategic level in a medium-sized or large organisation
