Head of Legacy Development

Job description

Cancer charity is seeking a Head of Legacy Development who will be responsible for supporting the development of the charity's legacy programme. The post holder will have overall responsibility for the organisation's second highest income stream (after Direct Marketing) and as a result can significantly impact on the delivery of work.

You will ensure the continued development of marketing initiatives including digital marketing to stewardship supporters and increase the number of gifts left in wills. You will take the lead on strategic direction and implementation; maintaining and developing donor relations; and overseeing the legal administration of gifts left in wills.

The post holder will manage the responsibilities of the Legacy Administration Officer, ensuring that the full value of legacies left to us is received, via proper administration and provision of documents, to ensure our trustees are protected in their responsibility to the Charity Commission.

Skills / experience:
- Proven track record of developing and managing a legacy programme
- Significant experience of planning legacy campaigns and events, maximising outcome and monitoring and reporting results
- Experience of implementing and managing successful donor stewardship with supporters
- Experience of strategic planning and implementation; creating and managing a budget; successfully managing/supervising a team member
