Head of Operations

We are delighted to be working with a new exciting non-profit to recruit a new Head of Operations to help build the organisation from scratch within the UK.
Working closely with the Managing Director you will be in charge of setting up and running the entire day-to-day operations of the organisation in Europe, starting with the UK.

You will over see all aspects of the day-day running of the organisation including HR, Finance, legal and IT. This is a really exciting opportunity to be involved in the setting up and growth of a new non-profit.

The role can be based remotely but with regular travel to London.

-Establish and run all aspects of the organisation's Europe's operations - building, from the ground-up, an effective successful organisation.
-Work with the Managing Director for Europe to oversee Europe's establishment as a legal entity and registered charity in the UK.
-Ensure the organisation is fully legally compliant by liaising with lawyers.
-Establish financial presence and ensure banking and accounting needs are met and managed in partnership with an accounting firm.
-Oversee HR and recruitment including creating and implementing a human resources and payroll system
-Negotiate and manage relationships and contracts with lawyers, accountants, insurers, PR agencies, and other service providers.
-Coordinate with colleagues in the USA to ensure compliance with financial and legal reporting systems and obligations.
-Oversee administrative, IT and technical needs and requirements of the organization, including helping to find and manage office space, etc.
-Organize team retreats and travel.
-Assist the Managing Director with any task as required occasional providing diary, administrative and research support

Skills and Experience required:
-Strong experience in operations, administration, HR, finance or other relevant field (interpreted broadly).
-Ability to working in a new, small, growing and evolving organization.
-Experience of devising and managing effective systems, fixing problems, and ensuring accurate administration.
-Excellent people-skills the ability to communicate, influence, build alliances, network and work well in a team.
-Ability to work well independently and under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
-Ideally Experience in successfully setting up a new organisation from scratch - e.g. a UK charity.
-Experience in successfully creating and managing systems in a start-up environment
