HR Assistant

Job description

I am currently looking for an experienced temporary HR Assistant for an amazing children's charity. You will provide a responsive processing facility for all HR transactional activity and will be the first point of contact for managers, employees and the public accessing HR services, providing information and guidance on core HR activities. This role requires a DBS (if you do not have a current DBS this is something that can be processed).

Main duties:
Provide first line HR advice and guidance and will manage and resolve customer enquiries and requests for service support in line with the relevant policies and procedures
Provide line managers and other customers with information and guidance on core HR policy and process to include signposting to internet-based HR policies, processes and guidance
Provide a responsive transaction processing facility for all HR transactional activity, working flexibly across systems and specialisms
Maintain accurate administrative systems to support the delivery of the principles underpinning the new HR service delivery model
Delivery of HR transactional processes in one of several fields (Payroll, recruitment, training administration, employee administration) in order to progress transactional activity across these areas accurately and within required timescales
Provide advice and information on processing transactions to customers and other stakeholders including colleagues in HR
Maintain up to date knowledge of changes to policy and procedures and legislative changes to ensure that information and advice provided to customers reflects up to date position.
Produce a range of letters, correspondence and other documentation to support changes across a range of areas (Payroll, recruitment, training administration, employee administration) to quality and time in line with SLAs and KPIs.
Provide advice and guidance to customers of the service in line with HR policy and procedures framework, HR best practice and legislative requirements
Ensure excellence in customer handling, providing first point of contact for all HR queries.
Provide a responsive onboarding administration service
Ensures offers of employment issued in line with policy, agreed SLA and KPI requirements
Understands approach to safe recruitment in respect of employment vetting checks to include DBS checks and uses this to progress required checks.
Ensures appropriate and comprehensive information and documentation sent to Recruiting Managers and candidates at all stages in the process and that changes to employment arrangements are progressed
Understanding of the link between data captured within Oracle HR System and the ability to extract data and produce reports
