Insight Analyst

Job description

A charity are looking for a Data Insight Analyst to deliver advanced analytics that empowers the fundraising teams to grow voluntary income and diversifying supporter base. You will work closely with the wider Data Marketing Team and fundraisers to deliver analysis that has the power to have a transformational impact on their fundraising activities. You will do this through generating insights from the supporter database (Salesforce CRM/SQL).

The role will work with all fundraising departments to produce data extracts for fundraising activities and provide analytical and reporting support to ensure that the fundraising activities are as effective as they can be.

Key Responsibilities:
-Undertake analytical projects, such as supporter segmentation or propensity modelling, in line with the needs of the organisation
-Proactively explore opportunities to improve the level of supporter insight across the organisation
-Think and work creatively to solve problems when faced with blockers or posed a novel question
Ensure project and technical documentation is kept up to date
-Work with the Data Marketing Manager and Senior Data Marketing & Planning Manager to set the strategic direction of the analysis programme
-As an analysis subject matter expert work to support the wider team in the development of these skills and help define what great analytics looks like
-Work with the wider Data Marketing Team to resolve issues as they arise and move the organisations use of data forwards
-Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs
-Plan and deliver analytics projects
-Communicate analysis and insight to technical and non-technical audiences
-Work with internal stakeholders to manage the pipeline of analysis requests


Skills and Experience required:
-Proven experience of delivering insight to drive organisational aims
-Excellent understanding of statistical techniques (including but not limited to logistic regression, cluster segmentation and multivariate analysis)
-Understanding of what makes a good supporter or customer experience
-Proven experience working with SQL Server in a marketing, membership, retail or fundraising environment
-Experience of programming languages including but not necessarily limited to R
-Good understanding of Data Protection principles and how they impact the work of a Data Marketing Team
