Interim Head of Digital and Marketing

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for an Interim Head of Digital and Marketing for health related charity in order to provide leadership, guidance and direction in the fields of brand, digital and marketing for the charity. This will be a temporary 3 months contract.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Lead on the development of the charity brand and its narrative and voice
Provide direction and leadership on the use and implementation of the charity brand
Lead on the development and delivery of the charity s digital strategy to effectively reach and engage with all charity s key audiences
Develop and begin to deliver a plan for embedding digital skills across the organisation
Lead on all aspects of social media for the charity and guide and influence its use by staff and other stakeholders
Ensure that all digital channels are optimised in order deliver organisational objectives
Lead and direct strategic, creative and technical delivery of all digital projects
Lead and direct any marketing activity to raise the profile of the organisation
Lead, influence and advise on marketing activity promoting fundraising, appeals, campaigns, research and support services
Lead and develop offline and online campaigns to drive action (either awareness, behaviour change, sales or donations)
Lead, coach and develop the team that delivers the brand, digital and marketing functions
Responsible and accountable for budgets covering publications, digital and marketing. Reporting and forecasting on said budgets.
Commission a range of external contractors to deliver high quality services including digital, design, editorial, print, distribution and marketing solutions
Keep well informed on legislation and industry changes that may affect the digital and marketing programme and comply with all relevant industry codes and charity/fundraising laws
To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably required
To represent the charity at external events

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Advanced leadership skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills including proven ability to convey complex issues clearly and effectively
Advanced knowledge and understanding of all aspects of digital
Experience of developing and implementing digital and marketing strategies
Proven experience of delivering digital projects
In-depth and strategic knowledge of brand positioning and marketing
High standard of editorial skills
Excellent project management experience
Experience of managing large budgets
Experience of managing diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
Demonstrable experience of commissioning and managing external contractors Experience of developing, implementing and managing multi-channel marketing strategies
Experience of managing editorial process and design
Advanced IT skills
Experience of using digital and social media to deliver organisational objectives
Personal attributes
A very high standard of leadership skills:
Experience of developing, coaching and growing a team through learning and development
Ability to work on numerous projects at the same time
