Internal Communications and Brand Officer

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for an Internal Communications and Brand Officer for a health related charity based in London in order to play a lead role in developing and delivering internal communications that empower and engage staff with the goals, impact and strategic direction of the charity.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Plan, write and broadcast regular, engaging communications to colleagues using the charity s internal channels, including the intranet, weekly newsletter, email and staff meetings.
Lead the day-to-day management of the intranet, including ensuring all sections are kept up-to-date, dealing with colleague queries and working with intranet content managers to ensure news, information and knowledge is shared effectively and in a timely manner.

Lead and execute the internal communication plans for all major charity campaigns and events,
Work closely with intranet content managers and other key internal stakeholders to create an inclusive working culture that encourages collaboration and inspires success.
Regularly evaluate the usage levels and performance of content shared on the intranet and identify new opportunities and areas for improvement.
Manage a programme of regular staff information sessions and impact events, giving colleagues the opportunity to learn more about the different areas of our work and celebrate our successes.
Prepare resources, create presentations and brief speakers for regular all-colleague meetings and other high-level briefings, as directed by the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team.
Create visual assets for use in internal communications, including intranet homepage banners and infographics.
Champion internal communications across the organisation, including inducting all new employees into the processes and opportunities for internal communications.
Support the creation of supporter communications.
Assist with the delivery (content gathering, third party supplier liaising, proof-reading) of key external communications, including annual reports, organisational strategy, impact reports and fundraising materials.
Work with the Design and Brand Officer to create compelling designs for a range of printed materials and digital assets.
Manage the charity s asset management brand hub, ensuring photography, video and design assets are uploaded, kept up-to-date and easily searchable for colleagues.
Act as a brand guardian , ensuring communications are as impactful as possible by upholding visual identity, editorial, and house style guidelines.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Of working in a similar communications role
Hands-on experience of managing intranets and using content management systems, such as Sharepoint, Yammer or Interact
Of working in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
It is desirable for you to have the following experience:
Of working to brand guidelines
Of working within the charity or not-for-profit sector
Of communicating health and science
Excellent people skills, with experience of building effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels and across departments
Excellent organisational and project management skills, with an ability to implement and co-ordinate multiple projects and tasks
Excellent oral communication and influencing skills, with experience of delivering presentations and messages to large groups of people
Excellent writing, editing and proofing skills across different channels (digital and print)
It is desirable for you to have the following skills:
Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) skills
Challenge accepted thinking and pitch new ideas with confidence
Take a story-telling approach to communication and content production
