International Disaster Response Manager

Job description

A leading international animal welfare and sustainability charity is looking for an experienced disaster relief professional to lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of their disaster response interventions.

Based in Bangkok, you will design and implement global response interventions that are capable of delivering significant impact for animals in disasters, while also engaging and mobilising key stakeholders to strengthen their focus on animal welfare during disaster preparedness planning. As such, this is a mixture of project management, disaster relief coordination and advocacy.

This position requires someone with substantial experience of leading emergency and disaster response operations and experience of delivering effective programmes and projects across multiple countries. You will also have experience of engaging, motivating and mobilising high-level stakeholders.

This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible benefit to the lives of animals in disasters across the world and, therefore, you will be highly motivated by this cause. However, it is not essential to come from an animal rights background, and experience of working in campaigning / mobilisation organisations such as environmental sustainability, women's rights or for a trade body/union (amongst others) will also be considered.

This position is a full-time, permanent position paying 1.56 million 1.8 million Thai Baht / 38,837.70 - 44,812.73 p.a. I am working to a deadline of Monday 4th MArch, so if you are interested in this position, please send your most recent CV to harry.marven@harrishill.co.uk ideally by Friday 1st March. Please note that the application process will also involve a cover letter.
