International Publications and Communications Officer/ Manager

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a for a Publications and Communications Officer/Manager for a health related charity in order to coordinate the production and promotion of content across multiple off and offline channels. This will be a part-time (2-3 days) 5 months contract.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Lead on the development, management and launch of a high quality and accurate publication.
Be responsible for content across all digital channels.
Ensure digital analytics are in place in order to monitor user engagement and use insights to improve our impact.
Coordinate the implementation of the communications strategy for the charity, working closely with the media team and consultants by contributing case studies, quotes, photos and video content.
Contribute to plans to evolve how we position our international work on the charity new website and represent the organisation on the relevant groups that are tasked with developing digital and communications strategies.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Extensive experience of working in Communications and / or Publications, preferably for an international non-governmental organisation
Proven experience of project managing the development and launch of a high profile publication including the writing and editing of high quality content
Excellent creative writing skills with proven ability to compose engaging copy; consistent attention to detail and excellent editing and proof-reading skills
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to represent the charity in public, including at conferences and events
Experience of developing content for websites and of using social media to meet the needs of a range of different audiences
Experience of working and consulting with partners and stakeholders, in the UK and internationally, to ensure that communications materials are consistent and accessible in a range of different contexts
Strong organisational, administrative and research skills
Ability to assimilate complex ideas and issues quickly and to identify and develop appropriate solutions and responses
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a close team and to manage multiple priorities against tight deadlines
Experience of working with or as part of a Communications team and developing strong and constructive relationships with colleagues across digital, media, internal communications and brand marketing
Experience of digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics and knowledge of how to turn insights into improvements
Computer literacy and fast word-processing skills, including use of MS Office and relevant database packages
