Lead Policy Advisor

Harris Hill are thrilled to be working with one of the UK's leading disability charities to recruit a Lead Policy Advisor to join their children and young people division. This role will shape and lead the charities policy work on children and families and young people to deliver long-term social change.

Key responsibilities will include;
- Leading on developing policy thinking by identifying problems, devising credible, evidence-based solutions and developing influencing strategies to achieve change.
- Leading responses to consultations and inquiries, including those of other external stakeholders (e.g. think tanks, charities, regulators).
- Championing co-production and embed parent, carers and disabled young people's voices in policy work.
- Work closely with research and insight colleagues to ensure policy development is informed by robust and credible research, including engagement with disabled people.
- Work closely with the campaigns team and political strategy team to ensure our policy recommendations are heard by those in power.

This role would suit an experienced policy candidate, who has been able to demonstrate the ability to influence decision makers within charities, the civil service or government. You will need to be a strong relationship manager, able to develop relationships with key stakeholders ranging from parents and service users through to local government. Candidates with policy experience and lived experience would be of particular interest. You will need to be a self-starter and able to develop ideas, lead on projects, and be proactive in campaigns.
