Harris Hill is proud to be working with one of the UK's oldest and progressive Synagogues in London to find a Membership and Operations Coordinator.

This internationally renowned synagogue provides a wide range of services to its continually growing membership base including a religious school, study and learning opportunities, and youth activities.

The synagogue is deeply committed to Social Care providing support from managing mental health, bereavement, serious illness, to coping with aging and disability & loneliness. The synagogue is also committed to Social Action providing a drop-in centre for asylum seekers, night shelters for the homeless and many other services to help the neediest.

Purpose of the role
To provide administrative support to the operations team in its dealings with the members. This will include the management database Enterprise and ShulCloud (the membership database).

Supporting the Finance Team with the accurate collection of direct debits and membership fees, providing administrative support for all member events and programmes. In particular the new Membership and Operations Coordinator will be the resident expert on the database, supporting staff and members on its use and leading on ensuring it is used to its fullest potential.

Experience and skills:
- Must have proven ability with ICT, data management, membership or CRM database systems and budget management functions.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft especially Excel and Word.

- The interpersonal skills necessary to sustain effective relationships and to relate effectively and sympathetically with a diverse group of people.
- Excellent administrative, organisational, project management skills, including a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work accurately with detailed information and to ensure that practical tasks are effectively implemented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to respond to all levels of members, management, staff and trustees.
- Self-starter and enthusiastic, able to work pro-actively and creatively, on own initiative and as part of a team, to help design and develop improved systems, procedures and Reports.
- Be able to work under pressure, multitask and prioritise, to ensure effective and timely delivery of tasks.
- Versatile team player, and a willingness to take on a wide range of tasks.
- Experience of working on membership databases, ideally in a faith-based organisation.
- A commitment to equal opportunities, data protection and safeguarding.
- Must be able to handle sensitive matters and recognise the importance of confidentiality.

Desirable qualifications include:
- Business, ITC, Non-profit management, Community development or other qualification.
- Previous knowledge of using ShulCloud would be desirable but is not essential.
- Experience/knowledge of Jewish youth movements would be an advantage.
