An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Third Age Trust as its Operations Manager.

Founded in 1982, the Third Age Trust (u3a) is a UK-wide movement of locally run u3a charities that provide a wide range of opportunities for members who are no longer in full-time work to come together to learn for fun. There are 1,050 u3as with over 450,000 members across the country.

The Trust defines the third age as being people who are no longer in fulltime work. Each u3a is a locally run charity that provides a wide range of opportunities for its members to come together draw on their knowledge and experience to learn and develop their interests, and also to make new friends, and have fun.
Members deliver this on an entirely voluntary basis, and a typical u3a will be home to many interest groups covering hundreds of different subjects - from art to zoology and everything in between.

The Third Age Trust has recently undergone a reorganisation which has created the need for the role of Operations Manager

Key details:
Role: Operations Manager
Location: A mix of in the office in Blackfriars and home working

Salary: 45,000 per annum plus benefits

Contract: Permanent

Key responsibilities will include:
Office and Facilities Management.
Policies and Procedures covering the range expected by a movement of volunteer-led charities.
Managing the Document Management System.
Systems Management covering a number of internal platforms and external provider platforms.
Overseeing the IT support desk function and to ensure that the outsourced support is available for use. by the staff, trustees and volunteer team.
Managing the administration relating to the annual director elections and resolutions. and AGMs.
As such we are looking for someone who has:
Experience in a senior management role.
Experience of developing and managing effective data management systems.
Experience of identifying and mitigating organisational risks in a positive way.
Experience of managing staff in a way that recognises the skills, talents and perspectives of everyone.
Experience of leading on managing safeguarding within an organisational context.
Exceptional numerical and analysis skills including the use of databases and complex spreadsheets.
Resourceful and creative approach to information gathering.
This will be an ideal role for someone who wants to make a significant difference to people in their third age who has the talent and experience in leading and managing services to achieve impactful results.
