Policy and Public Affairs Manager

Job description

I'm working with a major national children's charity to find their next Policy and Public Affairs Manager. As indicated by the job title, this role has a solid mixture of both policy and public affairs responsibilities and, therefore, requires someone with a similar background across both areas.

Working as part of the Strategy, Policy and Evidence Directorate, you'll have varied internal and external responsibilities. For example, you'll play an instrumental role in defining the organisation's campaigning priorities and, as such, will work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will also be a key point of contact for requests for information on public affairs and policy positions, which will also involve (as appropriate) media appearances.

As such, you will have a strong background in policy and public affairs, ideally within the child rights sector: although this latter aspect is not essential, you will at least have a passion for this subject. This can be either a step up or step sideways, as there are lots of learning and development opportunities on offer.

I am working to a deadline of 28th November, so if you are interested in applying to the job, please send your most recent CV to harry.marven@harrishill.co.uk ; application process will also involve a covering letter to me. Please note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
