Are you a Policy Manager looking for a new challenge?

This could be a great opportunity for you to work with a well-established institution looking to evolve while continuing to support its global membership.

The role
The Policy Manager role is based within the Policy and Public Affairs Team. As the Policy Manager, you will be responsible for producing high-quality policy reports and other materials to support the wider team's policy insight and influencing strategy aimed at key decision-makers across the world.

Duties and responsibilities
Support the development and delivery of a rolling work programme of policy content to support the proactive aspects of the organisations influencing strategy and wider narrative on the role of infrastructure in achieving sustainable outcomes for society. This includes individual policy projects, consultations, thought leadership pieces and policy statements.

Develop relationships with key individuals in policymaking networks in core policy areas to help ensure that organisations policy material is relevant to decision makers.
Enable knowledge transfer from the organisation to policy makers to support improved public decision making.

Provide advice and analysis to the directors and colleagues on political and economic issues affecting infrastructure developments to enable the organisation to remain relevant to external debates.
Support the promotion of the organisations public voice through an external affairs strategy jointly delivered with Policy, Public Affairs and Communications colleagues.
Enable Communications colleagues to respond to media requests for professional opinions on infrastructure issues to maintain ICE profile and support informed debate.

What are we looking for?

This a varied role that sits at the heart of organisations efforts to be recognised and trusted as the go-to expert witness for the public in infrastructure policy debates. As the successful applicant, you will join an ambitious team and have a broad remit to support the development of policy content to achieve the team's outcomes.

The role would ideally suit a strong researcher and compelling writer who is capable of breaking down complex topics into clear narratives to effect policy change.

The successful applicant will be familiar with and comfortable working with senior figures in politics, the civil service and industry. They will have experience in carrying out research, report drafting, responding to government consultations, as well as a thorough understanding of the public policymaking processes.

As the post holder, you will ideally have experience working on infrastructure policy development and understand the key issues currently affecting industry and government alike (however this is not essential).

We look forward to meeting you :)
