A great opportunity has arisen for a temporary Press and Communications Manager role in order to support the delivery of high-quality and dynamic PR and digital plans you will support the Press and PR Manager to prepare and implement large-scale national and regional PR plans. This includes drafting and selling-in news and feature stories to national, consumer, regional and trade press and broadcast media as well supporting on digital and social media creative content.
This will be a temporary contract for 3 months.


Key Responsibilities will include:

Support the Press and PR Manager to prepare and implement large-scale national and regional PR plans. This includes drafting and selling-in news and feature stories to national, consumer, regional and trade press and broadcast media as well supporting on digital and social media creative content - working closely with the communications agency and a large number of stakeholders across the charity.
This is a very busy time for the press office so the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their experience in working in a busy environment, balancing competing priorities and deadlines. You will manage media enquiries and provide timely responses including spokespeople requests, statements, images, film, facts and stats.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Experience and success in delivering high profile consumer campaigns for a range of audiences in a multi-channel environment (both traditional PR and digital media)
Evidence of gaining high quality media coverage through national and local media outlets.
Experience of managing digital content and communications agencies plus writing social/digital content
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience of selling in/briefing journalists and spokespeople.
Evidence of working well in a busy environment, balancing competing priorities and deadlines
Experience of reputation and crisis management with evidence of handling sensitive media stories/criticism.
Pro-active in approach, seeking new opportunities and responding quickly to any challenges.
Evidence of utilising digital content across multiple channels.
Strong editorial skills and able to create engaging content.
Experience of working collaboratively with creative agencies.
