Press Officer

Job description

Harris Hill are delighted to be partnering with the National Lottery Promotions Unit in their search for a Press Officer to join their fast paced campaigns team.

Each week, the National Lottery changes the lives of ordinary people through the 36 million it raises for good causes across the UK. National Lottery players help build local communities, power sports teams, protect the environment, unleash creative talent, unlock youthful potential and their support even helps win Olympic medals and Oscars!

The National Lottery Promotions Unit (NLPU) raises positive public awareness of National Lottery funding through a series of campaigns and initiatives, bringing to life the purpose of the National Lottery and showcasing the extraordinary impact Good Causes funding has across the UK.
In YouGov's Best Brand 2020 poll, the National Lottery was ranked number 2 behind Netflix for the brands which have improved the most in 12 months. This role will help further build the National Lottery brand, assisting in the development and selling in of PR campaigns across multiple channels.

As Press Officer you will deliver high-quality, proactive press on key creative campaigns and strengthen awareness of National Lottery Good Causes through media engagement and storytelling. In 2021, the National Lottery will run a series of nation-wide campaigns, including The National Lottery Awards, Olympic Track to Tokyo and the annual Birthday campaign (27 this year).

You will be supporting these campaigns through key communication plans and sell in, as well as managing smaller scale activities such as events work, setting up media days and social influencer and creative content creation throughout the year. You will also work with senior stakeholders across the National Lottery family, to ensure that work is aligned and complementary throughout the year.
