Harris Hill are delighted to be working with a unique international medical humanitarian organisation in their search for an experienced Press Officer.

You’ll join a successful communications departments busy press office to raise awareness of the organisation and their impactful work via coverage in the UK and internationally.

As an experienced Press officer you will proactively pitch stories to media to increase news, features and documentary coverage for the charity.

In working alongside another Press Officer and reporting to the Media Manager you will help maintain and identify opportunities to develop new relationships with UK and international media.

A creative storyteller you will research story ideas, source appropriate content and create engaging releases and media assets to generate coverage and awareness.

A confident communicator you will act as the first point of contact for media enquiries, brief spokespeople and facilitate interviews.  

This international organisation provides life-saving emergency relief and longer-term medical care to some of the most vulnerable and excluded communities around the world. As an international humanitarian organisation they deliver care based only on need, regardless of ethnic origin, gender, religion or political affiliation. The ideal candidate for the role will have:

-        Solid experience working in a busy press office

-        Track record in proactive media with ability to pitch in stories to media

-        Good knowledge of world affairs and understanding of humanitarian issues   

-        Ability to write compelling content and engaging stories to appeal to multiple audiences

-        Understating of how to identify and target key audiences

Location – London

Contract - Permanent 

Salary - £38,826 (including ILW)
