Project Manager

Job description

A charity are looking for a Project Manager until the end of June 2020 to be the driving force in delivering projects designed to improve the financial capability of children and young people.

Over the next 9 months the charity will be creating a programme of innovative teaching materials for use in schools and other education settings designed to increase the financial capability of children and young people.

This is an opportunity to take a project from its very early stages all the way through to completion.

The project contains a number of different activity strands, all of which the post holder will be required to successfully deliver or oversee the delivery of.

These include managing the content production, coordinating design and any print of the materials and resources, coordinating in school testing of the materials, reporting, both internally and externally, and governance of the project


Key Responsibilities:
-Implement and develop project plans to ensuring that time specific milestones for the delivery of allocated projects are met
-Co-ordinate and input to the strategic direction of projects
-Work closely with Senior Programme Manager and Head of Education Programmes to ensure effective, coherent management and delivery
-Train and oversee the work of freelance Education Consultants who often co-ordinate and deliver projects locally (primarily with schools, and other education providers)
-Co-ordinate and oversee all content used and developed for allocated projects, including education resources and materials produced for use in schools and other settings, and website content
-Liaise with all stakeholders in relation to the content development, usage, brand and logo placement, and maintenance
-Co-ordinate and oversee all project events (e.g. workshops)
-Co-ordinate and oversee all communications for allocated projects
-Monitor and ensure delivery of the agreed outputs in the project funding agreement
-Scope processes for monitoring, implementation and evaluation of the project
-Prepare and implement KPI mechanisms to capture and measure the impact and outcomes of the projects
-Work with the Senior Programme Manager to prepare and oversee the effective management of the detailed budgets for the projects

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience of delivering complex projects on time and on budget
-Experience of Strategic thinking and business planning
-Experience of delivering / managing the delivery of events
-Successful delivery of a range of projects involving effective engagement with non- direct reports
-Building and maintaining successful relationships with multiple different stakeholders
-Excellent planning skills to ensure effective use of resources and budget
-Ability to think and plan strategically to achieve successful organisational outcomes
-Excellent project management skills within complex projects
