Public Affairs Officer

Job description

Harris Hill is proud to be partnering with Versus Arthritis in its search for a new Public Affairs Officer.

As part of a high-performing and growing Policy and Public Affairs Team, the Public Affairs Officer will deliver Versus Arthritis' public affairs activities, building strong relationships with key decision-makers to ensure their policy priorities are recognised. Versus Arthritis take an integrated approach to influencing and changemaking, therefore, this particular role will combine policy, public affairs, campaigning, media and social media. The postholder will also be responsible for delivering a programme of parliamentary events and coordinating Versus Arthritis' presence at party conferences.

This is an exciting time for VA's public affairs function as they introduce the newly merged charity to public affairs audiences, as well as the wider organisation growing significantly over the past year. Whether you're currently working in a charity, for a health organisation, at a public affairs agency or otherwise, the postholder will be able to hit the ground running and, as such, have solid experience of working in a public affairs and/or policy environment, including effective delivery of influencing strategies and experience of building working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a cause-driven campaigner to both have a tangible, beneficial impact on the lives of those living with Arthritis as well as the opportunity to grow your own career in a highly experienced, successful and collegiate team.

This is a full-time, permanent position paying 31,000. Versus Arthritis are proud to be a modern and flexible employer, and have a variety of flexible working options on offer, including working from home and core hours (to be agreed on with the line manager). The deadline for applications is Tuesday November 19th.
