Research and Stewardship Executive

Job description

A charity are looking for a Research and Stewardship Officer will gather insightful and accurate intelligence in a clear and concise manner, enhancing the team's ability to generate funds.
You will be responsible for the production of bespoke reports to the charity's key donors, covering a range of topics that span the work of the charity. You will also provide support with the planning and implementation of high-level donor stewardship events, planning and producing briefings for external high-level meetings and overseas trips for the charity's senior staff and Officers, and other research or stewardship activities.

Key Responsibilities:
-Completing accurate, insightful and GDPR compliant research on the charity's prospective and current donors
-Providing core material for briefings, presentations and proposals within required timeframes.
-Coordinating the team in tracking their prospects along the solicitation cycle, generating and circulating prospect tracking reports as required.
-Coordinate the team's project tracking process, supporting fundraisers with monitoring current fundraising projects and identifying appropriate prospects as required.
-Working with Fellows, colleagues and key contacts to identify new links with prospective donors and strengthen relationships with current donors.
-Providing information on current UK and international philanthropy trends and competitor analysis for the Development team and other internal audiences as required.
-Working alongside fundraising colleagues to create and implement comprehensive stewardship plans for all current donors, detailing reporting and event timelines to maximise their support.
-Compiling information from across the charity to create informative reports and updates on funded projects and the Society's activity generally for donors.
-Creating and maintaining stewardship communication activities, including writing newsletters and web page updates
-Organising and supporting with major donor cultivation and stewardship events.
-Ensuring the timely implementation of donor stewardship activities and planning work accordingly to build in enough time for the involvement of senior staff.

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience of using Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook and Excel.
-Education to a Bachelor's or Masters degree or equivalent (essential)
-Experience of working closely alongside or within a major gifts team (desirable)
Understanding of fundraising from high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations, and companies (desirable)
-Experience of writing reports or donor communications, such as newsletters; and/or
-Experience of proactive and reactive prospect identification and research (desirable)
-Experience of using a CRM database to record information and produce reports, including the ability to interpret data where necessary (essential)
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Close attention to detail.
-Proven ability to prioritise and organise own workload effectively and efficiently when there are competing demands and to meet deadlines.
-Ability to find creative solutions to complex issues when they arise.
-Ability to develop credibility and build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal staff members, regardless of their position in the organisation.
