Senior Digital Officer

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for an Interim Senior Digital Officer for a membership organisation in order to lead on website content development and website development projects, and line manage a Digital Support Officer. This role will be a full time, 4 weeks contract.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Commission, improve and update material for the website to attract and keep visitors.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of projects to champion the needs of users and ensure the website and other digital channels promote the College to internal and external audiences in a positive and effective way.
Work with staff to design content to support key College projects, ensuring it reflects the College s house style, tone of voice and visual identity.
Analyse and report on visitor data and feedback.
Manage any necessary technical development of the website (change requests), working closely with the Editorial Manager and the organisation s digital agency.
Carry out in-house testing to assure the quality and adherence to scope and budget of developments.
Monitor website costs.
Support the Digital Support Officer with the running of the College s web support desk.
Provide learning and development training (with accompanying resources) to equip staff to use the College s CMS

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Relevant degree or equivalent experience
Experience of engaging audiences through digital channels
Excellent knowledge and experience of using CMSs
Knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of websites including use of Google Analytics
Excellent spoken and written communications skills
Including:
drafting and editing clear, concise, persuasive copy for a range of audiences
editing complex information using house style in a way that is straightforward to understand and appealing
experience of special requirements for writing for the web, including use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigation and tagging.
