Services Manager

Job description

I am currently looking for an outstanding Area Manager to lead and co-ordinate the delivery of services in the Black Country, Telford & the Wrekin for a major children's charity. I am looking for immediately available candidates for this exciting 3-month FTC.

Main duties:
To promote the service externally but especially with Statutory services including Education, Social Care, Police, Health, Mental Health, and Family Support, etc.
To line manage Project workers as required
To work with a range of key partners to ensure that children, young people and their families receive effective and co-ordinated support
To assist with the recruitment, training and personal development of project staff and volunteers
To monitor and manage expenditure against agreed budgets
To co-plan, organise and co-ordinate practice meetings and development days for all staff
To promote the participation of children, young people, and families in the design, planning and evaluation of our service
To ensure robust monitoring and evaluation of service delivery in the programme, delivering regular reports to the programme manager and partners.
To demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in the development and delivery of services

Knowledge:
Children's rights and evidence of promoting these rights
Issues facing vulnerable families with complex needs
An understanding of current legislation, social policy and issues relating to family work, particularly in a preventative context
An understanding of current legislation, policy, procedures, and issues relating to safeguarding children and young people
An excellent understanding and experience of working with, and for, children in care

Successful candidates will have a Social Work degree or equivalent OR Relevant professional qualification e.g. Youth & Community or NVQ 4 Health & Social Care Or HNC in Social care
