Social Media and Content Officer

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Social Media and Content Officer for health related charity in order to support the Website and Digital Marketing Manager to implement the social media strategy in order to grow and maintain an active, engaged community of supporters. To inform, engage and attract supporters as well as the general public - with creative content that also helps to increase understanding of the charity work.
This will be a temporary contract for 6 months.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Implement and help to develop strategy assist in the delivery of the charity s social media plan to drive online engagement and influence via social media channels.
Content creation and storytelling proactively plan and source content from both within and outside the organisation for use across appropriate social channels. Research, interview and write case studies and engaging real life stories. Produce compelling multimedia content to illustrate these stories, including video and photography.
Evaluation - monitor the performance of content using the required tools to establish greater understanding of audiences across different channels.
Assist with paid social media marketing contributing ideas and improvements for campaigns including reviewing creative, monitoring spend and other tasks as necessary.
Responsible for Facebook donate working with Fundraising teams to thank participants and using management tools as required
Moderation monitor social media to ensure comments, queries, feedback is all responded to as quickly as possible, liaising with relevant teams where necessary to formulate an agreed response (including some out of office hours work)
Work together with the Digital Officer (Retail) in the management of the organisation s Retail social media accounts, in line with the social media strategy.
Support the Website and Digital Marketing Manager with content management of the website, including but not limited to, helping to produce blogs and news articles.
Training and mentoring as needed, providing training and support to colleagues and team across the organisation to improve understanding of how the charity use social media and how it can be beneficial to their own activity.
Help shape the charity s future use of social media horizon scanning for potential opportunities to engage existing and new supporters.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Demonstrable experience of managing and reporting on social media activity
Experience in planning, sourcing and editing content for social media
Knowledge of a range of social media monitoring tools both free and paid for
Ability to create, manage and optimise paid for social media campaigns
Highly proficient digital copywriter, with excellent attention to detail
Intermediate level Photoshop skills
A can-do approach, with a positive attitude and willingness to support others across the organisation
Ability to work across the organisation and influence beyond the formal level of authority
Experience of working across a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising content for relevant channels where necessary
