Supporter Appeals Operations Lead (6 months FTC)

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for an Interim Supporter Appeals Operations Lead for charity based in London in order to ensure all direct marketing materials are produced and delivered on time and to brand guidelines, to recruit new supporters and engage with existing supporters according to the Fundraising Strategy and business plans. This will be a 6 months FTC.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Responsible for the delivery and management of all direct marketing for the Supporter Appeals team, ensuring sign off according to schedules and brand guidelines
Recruit new individual donors by direct mail, door-drop, press advertising, press inserts, radio, DRTV, digital marketing and social media
Manage the charity warm appeals to increase retention rates and average gift in line with the Fundraising Strategy
Line manage Direct Marketing Executives x 3 and Database Marketing Executive
Maintain good working relationships with creative and fundraising agencies, print suppliers, mailing houses and relevant internal departments
Work with the Supporter Appeals Strategic Lead and internal teams to develop new and innovative ways of continuing to expand and widen the unique opportunity presented to the charity each Christmas.
Implement charity digital fundraising programme, testing and evaluating a range of new media activities and channels including email, SMS, website affiliation, search engine maximisation and advertising, online partnerships and social networking

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

1. Extensive experience of managing direct marketing campaigns including donor recruitment programmes across a range of media
2. Detailed knowledge of print production and mailing techniques
3. Knowledge and experience of online direct marketing techniques
4. Experience of using Raisers Edge or a similar relational database
5. Knowledge of relationship marketing techniques and strategies
6. Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulation affecting fundraising and direct marketing
7. Experience of managing external marketing and creative agencies, printers and mailing houses
8. Experience of working with a variety of media such as press advertisements, mailings, face to face and DRTV
9. Experience of managing large and complex expenditure budgets
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
11. Analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and familiarity of handling numerical data
12. Experience of line management
13.Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and if needed, outside office hours
