Trust and Foundation Officer

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a temporary Trust and Foundation Officer for an international charity in order to provide excellent stewardship of a growing portfolio of trusts and foundations, and cultivating new relationships with a view of building long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Implement the highest standards of donor stewardship to effectively and creatively manage a varied portfolio of the charity s trusts and foundation partnerships. Proactively solicit donations and manage long-term relationships at events and meetings, through networking opportunities.
Build excellent external working relationships at all levels within trusts and foundations, including senior trust staff and Trustees, in order to affect and directly influence their decisions.
Develop and implement solicitation plans for all of relationships within the Trust Executive s portfolio, delivering against a personal income target. Deliver creative partnerships using your own initiative to maximise supporters engagement and income.
Work with team members to write high quality communications, proposals and reports for submission to donors. Secure grants for unrestricted funds and restricted funding projects tailored to donor requirements.
Develop an excellent knowledge of charity s programmatic approach, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor.
Work across teams to identify potential new business opportunities.
Foster an awareness of trust and foundation giving trends, news, events and legislation in the UK and where appropriate overseas, where these are of relevance to the trust fundraising programme.
Maintain and utilise CRM to manage account information, and to monitor and analyse donor performance in line with data protection regulation.
Support coordination of engagement activities across team, working to streamline communications, etc. across accounts.
Perform tasks as and when required to support colleagues, such as assisting at events, coordinating supporter field visits for team members, etc.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

Target-driven individual with a track record of soliciting gifts.
Excellent face-to-face, interpersonal, negotiating, and persuasive skills; and ability to build relationships with external stakeholders.
Proven ability to maximise relationships with existing and prospective supporters, developing relationships leading to funding through written communications and applications, phone calls and in-person meetings and events.
Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of supporters and prospects, understanding varied support motivations and deliver bespoke relationships as needed.
Experience of using CRM systems to manage donor relationship information, activities, etc.
Experience of proposal and report writing for trusts, high value donor audiences or similar. The ability to write accurately and persuasively, tailoring information to produce high-quality, compelling funding communications, proposals, and reports.
Good analytical skills and the ability to identify, segment and prioritise supporters.
Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills, experience of articulating a case for support to influence and gain the confidence of supporters.
Excellent numeracy skills and attend to detail, ability to analyse and prepare budgets, forecast donor income and report on results.
Excellent cross-team working, with the ability to gain buy-in and cooperation from colleagues in the UK and overseas.
Organised and methodical approach to plan and deliver against a varied workload, managing competing priorities under your own initiative and to strict deadlines.
