UK Programmes Business Development Manager

Job description

An international development charity based in central London is seeking a Business Development Manager for its UK Programmes. Together with children, young people, supporters and partners, the charity is addressing the root causes of gender inequality and child poverty. Over 70 countries have benefited from their partnerships over the last 80 years.

The Role
To provide effective leadership and delivery of the UK Programmes business development, in order to maximise income to support girls and young women across the UK.

  • Develop and implement the business development strategy for UK Programmes
  • Lead the prospect researching programme for both UK institutional and private sector donors including trusts, foundations, corporate partners and major donors
  • Develop innovative ways of approaching and meeting a wide range of prospects including attending networking events to raise the profile of our UK programmes work.
  • Working closely with the UK Programmes team to follow through leads and deliver effective presentations and pitches to prospects
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders including Leadership Team and Trustees to leverage their networks


Person specification

  • Substantial experience of creating and managing relationships with, and raising funds from, institutional donors, trusts, and foundations and/or corporate partne
  • Able to develop strong pitches and propositions and effectively communicate programme detail to donors
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to build relationships, negotiate and persuade a wide range of audiences both internally and externally
  • Experience of leading virtual teams of internal and external stakeholders on bids and projects
  • Ability to effectively interrogate, manage, monitor, and negotiate complex budgets and programme information
  • Ability to anticipate future trends, analyse them, and spot new opportunities
