I am currently looking for a Volunteer Manager for an amazing cancer charity. You will be responsible for advising on the effective management of volunteer activities across the organisation and managing volunteer-led events, from recruitment, placement, engagement, support and training.
Role focus:
To provide a high level of guidance and support to all relevant staff around managing relationships with volunteers to promote an excellent volunteer experience
To demonstrate a high level of expertise and champion excellent practice in volunteering promoting and enabling a positive culture of engagement that illustrates the value of volunteers to the charity
To manage key volunteering events happening in March and April, report to stakeholders on progress, identify risks to delivery and support the Volunteering team on operational issues
To ensure that all volunteering activity achieves or exceeds objectives and that activities are evaluated to improve performance and retain learning
Experience of managing and engaging with volunteers within a fundraising event capacity
Oversee the relationship with a key corporate partner during a nationwide, volunteer led fundraising activity maximising the opportunity to generate income and ensuring that the required number of volunteers are recruited and if numbers are low have a plan to increase them
Demonstrable volunteer management experience and delivery of projects and results through other teams who are regionally based
Experience of safeguarding issues related to volunteering, particularly volunteering in an NHS/clinical setting
Experience of successful internal and external relationship building and delivery of the high quality volunteer care and communications
Experience of line management teams and setting, managing and delivering against team targets
Experience of managing risks related to volunteering, including financial, safeguarding and reputational
Experience of communicating key messages to a range of audiences and stakeholders
Use of a relationship-based database to support and develop volunteer recruitment, training, managing, retaining, rewarding and recognising volunteers
