About the CEO role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blatchington Court Trust is a key leadership position responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the organisation.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO will lead a dedicated team to ensure the Trust fulfils its mission and achieves its strategic objectives while maintaining financial sustainability and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blatchington Court Trust

Salary: circa £65,000

Location: 6a Hove Park Villas, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 6HW

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Annual Leave: 25 days per year

Pension: The trust contributes 5% of the salary to the government pension scheme

  • BCT closes between Christmas and New Year, with closure days not counted against the annual leave

What success will look like

Under the new CEO's leadership, success in one year is likely to include:

  • Conducting a review of the organisation's structure and strategy, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, and to measure impact.

  • Addressing staff turnover and unsettlement, fostering a more cohesive and motivated team environment through effective leadership and communication.

  • Initiating fundraising efforts to diversify income streams and increase financial stability for future growth and development.

  • Building strong relationships as our new CEO with our community, engaging with clients, families, trustees, and other stakeholders with a view to building new working partnerships.

In five years, success could include:

  • A clear strategy cycle and sense of vision and direction, shared across the whole charity.

  • Expanding service offerings to meet the evolving needs of our community, including the establishment of effective partnerships with other organisations.

  • The CEO's strategic fundraising efforts have resulted in increased financial capacity, allowing us to invest in new initiatives, staff development, and infrastructure improvements.

  • BCT has solidified its position as a leader in the field of supporting young people with sight loss, garnering increased recognition and support from the community and beyond.

  • The charity has maintained and built on our reputation for providing a great service to our community.
