City Harvest London - rescuing food for the hungry

Welcome and thank you for visiting our recruitment page. We’re currently looking for great people to join us in two important roles, details of which you'll find below, but first an introduction to who we are.

Our story

City Harvest is a fast growing London based charity with a mission to reduce food insecurity by diverting nutritious, edible surplus food from waste and redistributing it to the hungry.

Founded in 2014 by a small group of individuals conscious that one of the wealthiest cities in the world experiences food poverty and staggering food waste daily, our goal is to connect all available surplus food with those who desperately need it.

The charity has grown over the years and now distributes food equivalent to well over 10 million meals per year, funded totally by food donations and charitable fundraising which last year was over £5 million.

Our impact

tonnes of greenhouse gas prevented

What we do

City Harvest collects and puts surplus food to good use in a sustainable way by distributing to organisations who feed the hungry.

Our 350+ charity partners to whom we deliver food include children’s programmes, homeless shelters, refuges for victims of domestic violence, centres for at-risk youth, community meals for the elderly and those facing social isolation.

We have delivered food valued at over £40 million to our partners, at no charge, causing a multiplier effect as it frees up food budgets and enables them to provide other life-transforming services to a greater number of people.

City Harvest provides a lifeline of support for beneficiaries, not only through food but the social connection our food forges. The physical and emotional loads some have had to carry is astounding and City Harvest stands as a pillar of support for vulnerable Londoners.

Through the long-lasting relationships with our charity partners, we have been able to provide millions of meals. Demand for our food grows exponentially and we intend to be equipped to meet it.
