Alumni Development Manager

Job description

An independent school in the Surrey are, seek an Alumni Development Manager for 3 months, on a full time basis.

The Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring the success of the annual fund and alumni appeals by fostering strong relationships with parents, alumni and volunteers reaching annual income targets by significantly increasing the base of annual fund gifts and to personally solicit gifts of up to 25,000.

We are looking for a self-starter, who is strategic and forward thinking, implementing fundraising programmes from brief. You will have a dynamic approach to implementing new initiatives, a confident communicator with strong written, presentation, networking and digital skills.

You will be able to manage a portfolio of prospective donors, planning and executing steps for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for gifts up to 25,000 from parents and alumni.

Duties also include:
Acquire parent donors and move prospects through the donor cycle by working with senior leadership team, PSOs and selected volunteers. This involves preparation of strategies and briefing notes for calls and meetings
Deliver new annual funds, identifying and managing parent volunteers to solicit gifts of up to 10,000 #Work with the PSOs to raise awareness of and support for fundraising campaigns through delivering presentations and targeted events
Work with the Head of Development & Alumni Relations to develop cultivation plans for parents and alumni
Ensures all donors in the portfolio are recognised and stewarded appropriately
Work closely with marketing team to develop and manage consistent messages and campaigns to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications.

Experience:
3-5 years of fundraising experience preferably in the education sector and proven track record for securing gifts.
Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful annual fundraising and cultivation plans
Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining new fundraising programmes and working with volunteers
Ability to collect, organize and analyse data related to donor giving
Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritise, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Excellent writing, communications and presentation skills
Proficient knowledge of Raiser's Edge
Well versed in digital, direct mail and email solicitation best practices
Ability to think strategically, attention to detail and strong programme management skills
Experience of working collaboratively and cross functionally.
Good IT skills - Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages, email, social media.

The day rate is 132pd plus holiday pay for PAYE workers. However, we are also accepting Ltd/ Umbrella workers at a day rate of 168 per day.
