Area Events Manager

Harris Hill is working with a high profile, national charity, supporting their search for multiple Area Events Managers for 4 month temp contracts.

The Area Event Manager is an integral member of a field-based divisional team who work together to deliver mass fundraising and supporter engagement events, including flagship running, walking, Legacy events and volunteer thanking events. They are responsible for every aspect of event delivery, including event budget management, event planning and logistics, and health and safety, ensuring expert delivery of high-quality mass participation fundraising events, as well as engagement events for prospective and existing supporters that help nurture life-long relationships and increase average lifetime value.

Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours
Experience of event planning, management and delivery - preferably mass participation events e.g., over 1000 people.
A track record of successful event delivery, with a focus on exceptional attendee experience
A working knowledge of IT systems including purchase order systems, databases, Microsoft office is desirable
Experience of managing budgets and monitoring and reporting on expenditure
Experience in evaluating events and projects and implementing improvements
Working knowledge of health and safety guidelines and practices for events
Requirement for physical activity and heavy lifting, with support where possible, when delivering events
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively, work efficiently and juggle competing priorities
A proven problem solver who can assess a situation quickly and make decisions, escalating when necessary
Excellent communication skills - verbal, non-verbal and written
Excellent relationship, negotiating and influencing skills
A strong self-awareness that allows you to play to your strengths and manage your development areas
Flexibility:
Extensive travel required for visiting stakeholders, suppliers, event locations and for delivery of the event. This may require working unsociable hours and overnight stays where required.
