Assistant Management Accountant

Temporary Assistant Management Accountant job – 3 Months (Potential Temp to Perm)

Your main duties

You will be producing monthly Management accounts and back reports and holding regular meetings with budget holders to go through management accounts.

Contributing to organisation-level Quarterly Management Accounts, including collation of commentary on performance, and forecast revisions.

You will be the first point of contact for any adjustments requested by budget holders and coordinating with financial accounting team to correct it. 

You will be supporting with the month end by calculating monthly ICRs and prepare monthly journals to record them.

You will be supporting the Management Accountant in the budgeting and forecasting process.

You will be responsible for the preparation of all templates for unrestricted and restricted budgets and forecasts and providing relevant support to budget holders. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly restricted and unrestricted budget and forecast reports, collation of commentary on performance and forecast revisions.

You will also be holding regular review meetings with budget holders documenting and maintain comments about budgets and forecast.

What you’ll need to succeed

The successful applicant will be a driven and determined individual who can perform the above duties and keep calm under pressure. You will need a proven track record in accounting within the charity sector with strong IT skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. An excellent working knowledge of Oracle or equivalent Finance software and technically strong on accounting issues specific to not-for-profit organisations is also essential.
