Bookkeeper (part-time)

Job description

This is a great opportunity for a part-time book-keeper (2 days a week) who is motivated to add value to a small charity offering family's vital support and care. They have been around for about 40 years and in that time they have established a national and international reputation for their valuable work.

The Purpose
The successful candidate is responsible for the maintenance of the charity's accounting records.

The role includes:
Entering sales invoices, receipts, purchase invoices, payments, petty cash and credit card expenses on SAGE.
Maintaining sales and purchase ledger, and providing monthly aged debtor analysis.

Payments:
Prepare electronic payments, and maintain payee records.

Payroll
Process monthly payroll.
Submitting information to HMRC.
Supervising pension contribution payments.

General duties
Dealing with internal & external queries relating to accounts.
To meet regularly with SMT, and to provide necessary account information.
Prepare bi-monthly management accounts in liaison with Director.
Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts.
Process accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
Prepare income and expenditure report and balance sheet.

Budgets
Assist in the preparation of the budget.

End of year Audit
To assist in the audit process.


Personal Specification 

Essential
1. Experience of SAGE 50.
2. Good knowledge of Excel & MS Word.
3. Good, clear communications skills.

Desirable
Previous experience of working with charities and not for profit organisations.

Salary 30,000pa (pro rata) based on a 2 day working week.
