Job description

Harris Hill is working with a small an upcoming charity that works in the organ and blood donation field. This charity seek an interim Charity Manager for 3 months on a 3dpw basis.

Having been run purely by volunteers and having received a large donation, the charity seek an interim to relieve the pressure of the volunteers and take it a step further,

The holder of this post will have an all-rounder role working in all areas of the charity. Primarily they will run the operational side of the organisation but they will also be responsible for the strategic development of this young charity.

The organisation is run by a board of 7 trustees who manage the national steering committee (NCS) and the local groups of which there are currently 11. Each of these student run local groups has a local committee and a team of student ambassadors.

Main roles and responsibilities of charity manager
1. To contribute to the strategic planning of the charity
a. Operations optimisation
b. Long term sustainability
C. Identify areas for development and/or growth
D. Communications / Social media strategy and management
2. Community outreach
a. To act as a liaison for the local WAD groups. This will involve contacting schools and children's groups in the areas we operate in to generate a database of hot leads
3. Volunteer manager
a. Responsible for organising the volunteers including maintaining up-to-date spreadsheet of all people involved with their role and contact details, training completion and adherence to volunteer agreement
b. Monitoring activities of local groups and their adherence to our objectives through regular meetings
C. Organise and attend meetings between local group members and NSC
4. Oversight of the finances of the charity
a. Ensuring compliance with the charity commission regulations
b. Monitoring spending of the local groups
C. Management of expense claims
5. Planning and logistics for national events
a. Organising training days, AGM, work sprints
b. To assist in the planning and running of fundraising events

This is an amazing opportunity for someone with a diverse skill set, apply their knowledge to drive this charity in the right direction. This charity has done amazingly with the time and dedication from the current volunteers and trustees however, having other jobs, this is at a stage where it needs dedicated input.

The client has given this a wide salary brack ranging from £30-50k, depedning on experience.
