Job description

Chief Executive Officer Educate a Child International

Location: Central London

Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 (based on experience and salary history)

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Who are Educate a Child - International (EACI)?

EACI, at its heart, is a commitment to children who are out of school to help provide them with opportunities to learn and as such, it contributes to the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 4: to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.

Our vision is a world where every individual has the opportunity to learn through a quality education.

We work with partner organisations toward our mission of triggering significant breakthroughs in providing out of school children faced with extreme poverty, cultural barriers, and conflict-affected environments an opportunity for a full course of quality primary education.

Who are we looking for?

The new Chief Executive will be leading the organisation through a start up phase and will need to be a highly effective partner to the Board of Trustees at this crucially imporant early stage of our charity.

We are seeking a CEO with a track record of leadership experience, working in a similar role and managing a charity of a comparable size. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge and understanding of voluntary and community sector governance and practice, including the international and UK environment as well as an awareness of the challenges and opportunities facing the UK charitable sector today.

The appointed candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams and developing talent to ensure the charity's goals and objectives are met. They will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be confident building partnerships, mobilizing additional resources (including direct fund raising) and establishing EACI as an important innovator in the education and development community in the UK.

They will have demonstrable experience of working with high profile entities such as high net worth individuals, Government Ministers and Royalty. They will also have a strong understanding of how to build an organisation successfully, including recruiting staff and implementing new strategies for income generation, expanding and promoting awareness of EACI's work.
