Job description

At National Family Mediation we are looking for our new CEO to lead this charity to develop the reach of our mediation practice, and training services, in order to grow our income. And further build our reputation as the gold standard for couples who are contemplating separation or divorce.  

Established in 1982, National Family Mediation is the largest provider of family mediation for couples who are divorcing or separating. Our network of Mediators are based across England and Wales. NFM is a not-for-profit provider, offering both Legal aid funded and self funded mediation. They deliver highly regarded accredited training for established and aspiring Mediators. A key priority is to ensure the well-being and future development of the children within these families.

Key details:

Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at National Family Mediation

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 pa

Contract: Permanent, Full-time appointment

Location: Exeter, with flexible, hybrid or remote working available

 

As well as a demonstrable alignment with our vision, mission and values, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strategic thinking and creativity, as well as operational application and excellence in delivery.

  • The ability to build and develop strong, collaborative relationships with all colleagues is critical.

  • Ability to recognise priorities and guide others towards the accomplishment of strategic business goals and objectives.

  • An interest in family mediation and the environment in which it operates.

  • Strong commitment to the aims and values of NFM and the wider field of not-for-profit mediation and a previous experience as a senior manager in a similar organisation, including skills in negotiation and influencing with key stakeholders.

  • Experience of strategic planning and the management of change, championing progress and development of ideas through to implementation.

  • Solid commercial and financial acumen capability including preparing and managing budgets and a flair for income generation.

  • Experience of successful grant applications.

  • Experience of tendering for government contracts.
