Data Governance Manager

Job description

I am currently looking for a Data Governance Manager for an amazing health charity. The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain a framework of data governance through the provision of support, expertise, advice, policies and training to ensure that the charity complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other associated and relevant legislation including PECR and DSS PCI compliance.

Main duties:
Be the subject expert for the organisation for data protection, security and privacy queries and questions from staff and volunteers.
Develop, monitor and maintain all the required policies and procedures relating to personal data management
Interpret legislation to generate clear requirements and actions for data owners.
Develop and deliver a programme of guidance and training to all staff and volunteers on data governance
Work with our volunteer groups to ensure that they handle and manage personal information in accordance with the law
Develop and carry out an audit/assurance of data processing activity across the organisation
Point of contact for regulatory bodies
Reporting compliance issues
Acting as project manager as required and contributing to relevant programmes and projects
